Ericsson and Star-Cell BS deployed in Cambodia with satellite programmes and nutrition of solar panels

Ericsson Company reported that first united the base station (BS) GSM standard with the system of satellite communications in a single mobile network infrastructure to food from solar panels. The possibility of signal transmission via satellite makes it easy to provide network coverage in remote regions where there is no possibility to use other channels to Intranet connection. This is the key to eliminating the digital barrier, as about 80% of people in Cambodia live in rural areas.

Standalone solution with GSM-made to the antenna radiomodulem has less impact on the environment than the standard base station, by reducing energy consumption by 50%. In addition, the station helps to reduce overall costs by reducing the costs of its services.
