China Mobile strengthens its defences
Nokia Siemens Networks solution improves network resilience to growing security challenges
China Mobile Group Jiangsu Ltd. (Jiangsu Mobile) is implementing a security solution to protect itself against the potential risks brought by its increased use of IP networks and data services. The Nokia Siemens Networks solution will ensure reliable telecommunications service, provide a secure data experience to customers and help the operator realize new opportunities in its full service operation era.
With customer demand for converged services increasing each day, IP networks are emerging as the preferred platform. However, traditional IT security solutions are insufficient to address the challenges that come with an all IP network, and this posed a significant challenge for operators.
Nokia Siemens Networks worked closely with Jiangsu Mobile to understand and analyze its network security challenges and delivered a tailor-made solution which combines project management, network structure design, system integration and operation & maintenance to address the unique security challenges of communications networks.
In addition, Nokia Siemens Networks also provided Jiangsu Mobile with a security evaluation tool based on international standards, which will help the operator measure the effectiveness of its security system, and evaluate the return on its security investment.
With improved network security, end users will have access to higher-quality unbroken service with reduced risk of hacker attacks. Jiangsu Mobile will also benefit from increased network uptime, and reduced OPEX.
Commenting on the win Steven Shaw, head of Service for Nokia Siemens Networks Greater China region said, “Our strong legacy in the telecom industry, our understanding of consumer access trends and our innovative services model helped us go beyond IT and IP layer security, to address security challenges across the communication network – thus enabling higher security, and better service.”
“This is an important security solution win with China Mobile for Nokia Siemens Networks, and we are confident of similar successes in the future,” he added.
