MiTAC International completes purchase of Magellan and forms MiTAC Digital
MiTAC International Corporation announced the completion of the acquisition of units of retail products Magellan Navigation. This implies a shift to buying MiTAC assets, brand Magellan, navigation software, patents and intellectual property rights, as well as a channel of distribution. The new company, formed from the units purchased Magellan, will be called MiTAC Digital Corporation and the president will take Kevin Chuang (Kevin Chuang).
The strength of the brand Magellan is based on consumer preferences and established distribution channels in the market of portable devices and car navigation in North America. The most popular products are the family avtonavigatorov Magellan RoadMate and Maestro, as well as Triton naladonnye navigators for tourism and travel.
