Inventec Appliances to launch Nvidia Tegra APX2600-based smartphones in 3Q09, says paper

Taiwan-based handset maker Inventec Appliances is expected to launch an Nvidia Tegra AXP2600-based smartphone, the S2, in the third quarter of this year, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

China-based Yulong Computer Technology will follow suit by introducing another Tegra AXP2600-based smartphone model, the N8, in the fourth quarter. Other rumors also indicated that Apple and High Tech Computer (HTC) may also roll out smartphones built using Tegra application processors, the paper added.
