Motorola CCE Enables CODETEL to Launch Innovative Pay TV Service
Motorola Communications Convergence Engine (CCE) platform is key to helping full service telecommunications provider CODETEL deliver the next generation TV experience in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announces today that CODETEL has selected Motorola’s Communications Convergence Engine (CCE) to launch a new wave of innovative Pay TV service offerings in the Caribbean. CCE is an IPTV software solution that enables operators to rapidly conceive, design, package, deploy and manage a broad range of compelling content and services.
CODETEL deployed its Pay TV service, using IP infrastructure (IPTV), in the Dominican Republic, under the Claro TV brand. It is the first America Móvil (AMX) subsidiary in Latin America to launch this innovative service that will benefit Dominican TV subscribers with a variety of features that are not currently offered in the country.
Oscar Peña, CODETEL´s President stated that, “CODETEL is pleased to have Motorola as a partner in the launch of its IPTV services in the Dominican Republic. We are confident that this launch will impact the TV industry in a way never seen before because Claro TV provides the best and most personalized entertainment experience through the TV. In this sense, Motorola CCE will help us to put the control of entertainment in the hands of the consumer.”
Changing market needs require that wired and wireless network operators have an infrastructure capable of rapidly introducing new service offerings. CODETEL selected Motorola CCE because it enables rapid introduction of revenue-generating services, efficient management of application resources, significant reduction of integration costs, constant access to best-in-class applications and effective optimization of network investments.
“For the customers, this means that they will a have a new provider of video services offering a richer, more modern, more compelling service than existing cable TV and satellite providers, as well as more choices, unlimited video on demand (VOD) titles and flexible channel bundles”, said Jorge Duron, Motorola’s VP of Sales for Latin America.
Motorola’s CCE is an open, flexible software platform that enables operators to:
· Rapidly deploy new services
· Build subscriber loyalty
· Reach new markets
· Capitalize on the economic opportunities of delivering converged multimedia services
Using Motorola CCE solutions, CODETEL will also be able to streamline management of complex IPTV operations, manage VOD pricing and packaging more effectively, as well as offer bundles of IPTV and VOD with music, games and IP services.
Motorola’s CCE solution consists of two complementary products: Motorola’s CCE Service Broker and Motorola’s CCE Content Manager, which allow operators to deliver next generation services and content in a fully converged triple play environment. The CCE suite helps service providers manage the complete subscriber experience and opens up entertainment opportunities.
