AT&T U-verse TV Customers Score with Interactive College Basketball Application
Basketball Fans Can Stay Up-To-Date on Tournament Action with Personalized Brackets and More Available on their U-verse TV Screens
College basketball fans, grab your remote controls and get closer to this month's basketball action. AT&T* today announced that AT&T U-verseSM TV customers have more ways to follow tournament excitement with the launch of College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports, an interactive application available to all U-verse TV customers at no extra charge.
With College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports, available now on the AT&T U-bar, sports fans can view tournament brackets, their personalized completed bracket, game summaries and box scores, and video clips of game analysis and commentary — all at the click of their remote control.
"AT&T U-verse just got better, again. This is the perfect app for fans who want the latest, in-depth information on their favorite college teams and rankings, without ever putting down their remote controls," said G.W. Shaw, AT&T executive director of U-verse marketing. "Using our U-verse Internet Protocol (IP) technology, College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports is yet another innovative application that enhances the U-verse TV experience, and is an example of the integrated apps that we'll continue to bring to AT&T U-verse customers this year."
AT&T U-bar is an interactive feature available to all U-verse TV customers on every TV that allows viewers to receive customized sports, weather, stock and traffic information on their U-verse TV screen.
To set up their brackets for College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports, U-verse TV customers can use their U-verse High Speed Internet account to log in at att.net and click on "Sports" to pick the teams they think will advance. They can complete their bracket anytime between when the brackets are announced until the first game tips off. Once the tournament begins, U-verse TV customers can easily track the accuracy of their team picks by viewing their brackets on their U-verse TV screen. Correct picks will be highlighted in green and losing picks will be highlighted in red.
College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports is the latest addition to the constantly evolving suite of applications that has been introduced to all U-verse TV customers at no extra charge. U-verse TV customers can also enjoy several other integrated features, including Total Home DVR; the ability to program DVR recordings from any Web-connected mobile phone or PC; the AT&T U-bar; the ability to view personal photos on your TV that you have uploaded to flickr.com; and more.
AT&T U-verse customers enjoy quadruple-play integration, enhanced features and greater value, all made possible by IP technology. AT&T U-verse TV ranked "Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the North Central, South, and West Regions," according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudySM.
