Gotham Media Launches Innovations Series to Focus on Media and Tech in a New Economy

Craig Newmark and Michael Wolff Kick Off Series at the Samsung Experience

NEW YORK, -- Innovation is coming to New York City this spring. Gotham Media (www.gothammediaventures.com) today announced the launch of Innovations, an interactive speaker series that will explore the connections between content and technology. The Innovations series will launch on Monday, April 20, 2009 with "Media 3.0 - What's Next?" an event featuring Craig's List founder, Craig Newmark, and Vanity Fair media columnist, author and media entrepreneur, Michael Wolff. The Innovations series will be hosted by Samsung at the Samsung Experience, located in the Time Warner Center in New York, and will take place from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

"Innovations will explore cutting edge technologies in the context of a rapidly changing media culture and our new economy," said Gotham Media President Gordon Platt. "The purpose of the series is to promote live discussion and to then continue it on-line." He added, "These days it seems too much of our dialogue is conducted on the Internet and there is a real desire for face to face discussion. It is a great opportunity to kick off the series with Craig Newmark and Michael Wolff."

The Innovations series is a complement to the Digital Breakfast Series, started by Gotham Media (www.gothammediaventures.com) in 2007. The Digital Breakfast provides a monthly forum and panel discussions for top tier executives in media, technology, advertising, finance and law to examine issues in media technology. The Digital Breakfast also launched in Los Angeles last fall and plans are also underway to begin a Washington, DC series later this year.

Registration for the Innovations series is available through the Gotham Media website, www.gothammediaventures.com. The price of the event is $60, and a Digital Breakfast membership, available for $200, provides admission to four Gotham Media events. The Samsung Experience is in the Time Warner Center, located at 10 Columbus Circle in New York.
