Motorola to help Taiwan MSO set up integrated cable modem termination systems
Motorola has inked a deal with Taiwan-based cable TV MSO (multi-system operator) Taiwan Broadband Communications (TBC) for the deployment of the first DOCSIS 3.0-complaint I-CMTS (integrated cable modem termination system) network in Taiwan, according to sources at the companies.
With Motorola's I-CMTS network, TBC will allow its clients, now totaling about 700,000, access to HD TV programs, multi-player online games, social video media interaction services at a download speed of 160Mbps, TBC said.
