Taiwan market: NCC requires 5% cut in 2G voice talk charges
Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC) on March 25 decided to ask the operators of 2G mobile communication service in Taiwan to lower their highest charges rates for voice communications by at least 4.88% beginning April 1, 2009.
The required price reductions also cover voice calls from fixed-line telephone numbers to 2G numbers, the NCC indicated.
The NCC required the same price reduction in 2007 and 2008, with the cumulative price cut after April 1 to exceed 10%, according to industry sources.
