HTC 1Q09 net earnings down 40% on year
High Tech Computer (HTC) saw its net earnings drop 40% on year to NT$4.89 billion (US$147.73 million) in the first quarter of 2009, the company has disclosed.
The company said the earnings translated into net EPS (earnings per share) of NT$6.56 for the quarter compared to NT$11.98 of a year earlier.
HTC's first-quarter revenues of NT$31.59 billion were down 3.4% compared to the first quarter of 2008, and accounted for 95.7% of the company's estimation of NT$33 billion. However, the company said that its projection of a double-digit growth in revenues for all of 2009 remains unchanged.
In March alone, HTC had revenues of NT$12.38 billion, up 34.4% sequentially and up 12% on year.
