New S312 imaging and W205 Walkman™ phones support range of JSRs

Sony Ericsson announced two new phones on April 7, 2009 - the S312 imaging-centered phone and the W205 Walkman™ phone. Both phones support the Java™ ME Platform with a range of JSRs, and S312 includes 3D gaming.

S312: Camera phone with dedicated video key
The Sony Ericsson S312 offers a snapshot imaging experience, featuring a 2.0 megapixel camera with horizontal UI, illuminated imaging shortcuts on the keypad, dedicated video camera key, picture blogging and image optimization with Photo fix.

In addition to offering a media player, TrackID™ track recognition service and FM radio, the S312 supports 3D gaming with both JSR 184 and Mascot Capsule version 3.

The S312 supports seven JSRs including Mobile Media API (JSR 135), Java Technology for the Wireless Industry (JSR 185) and PDA Optional Packages for J2ME Platform (JSR75).

The phone also includes 15MB internal memory, Memory Stick Micro™ removable storage, Bluetooth™ and HTML browser.

The S312 will be available in selected markets during Q2 2009.

W205: Accessible, slider-format Walkman phone

W205 Walkman phone The Sony Ericsson W205 makes the Walkman phone experience more accessible to end-users - positioned as "your first Walkman phone" - and includes the Walkman player, TrackID™ track recognition service and FM radio with RDS.

The W205 is a slider, has a 65k color, 128x160 pixel TFT display, 5MB internal memory, a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth™ for sharing tracks, pictures and videos.

It supports six JSRs, including Mobile Media API (JSR 135), Java Technology for the Wireless Industry (JSR 185) and PDA Optional Packages for J2ME Platform (JSR 75).

The W205 and W205a will be available during Q3 2009 in selected markets.
