Sony Ericsson is likely to outsource production of its Android-powered handsets to Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) although the company has declined to say when its "Google phone" will be available, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
Company CEO Hideki Komiyama said during a recent interview with Reuters that it would take some time before Sony Ericsson offers its own Android-based handsets,
However, the Commercial Times quoted market sources citing internal documents at Europe-based carrier Orange which indicate that Sony Ericsson and Orange will jointly launch Android phones in time for the 2009 year-end holiday season.
