MediaTek chips selected by LGE, ZTE for China Mobile TD-SCDMA bidding, says paper

LG Electronics and ZTE have separately teamed up with MediaTek in order to enter the handset supply chain of China Mobile's TD-SCDMA deployment, which is expected to help the Taiwan-based IC designer to expand into China's 3G market, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times citing China's reports.

MediaTek's rivals Spreadtrum Communications has seen its chipsets selected by China-based New Postcom and Hisense, while Motorola and Huawei Technologies are partnering with T3G Technology.
