Compuex 2009: TAITRA highlights 'Taiwan Excellence' ICT products
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is hosting a booth at Computex Taipei 2009 to showcase dozens of award-winning quality and innovative ICT products from Taiwan companies.
The 66 exhibits from 32 companies have been selected from among 561 items entered into the "Taiwan Excellence" contest aimed at promoting Taiwan-made products as synonymous to quality in a global branding campaign.
The award winners excel in aspects necessary to make them a success: R&D, design, quality, marketing, and innovation, according to TAITRA. Among the exhibits, four won a Gold Award and seven were awarded a Silver.
The Gold Award winners are: Asustek Computer's light-weight, thin Eee PC S101 netbook; Optoma's PK101 pico projector; HTC (High Tech Computer) Touch Diamond smartphone; and Penpower's Worldcard WCU01A business card management system.
The Silver Award winners are: Aiptek's V10 pocket projector; Chi Mei Optoelectronics' (CMO) 19-inch LCD panel; KYE Systems' solar-power mouse-keyboard set; BenQ's short-throw MP512 ST gaming projector; Nanya Technology's Elixir DDR3 SODIMM series; Asustek's 3.5G PDA; and Asustek's Bamboo U2 notebook.
Other companies being showcased at the TAITRA booth include Tatung, Avermedia Technologies, Shuttle, Micro-Star International (MSI), Power Quotient International (PQI), A-Data Technology, and In Win Development. The companies are displaying products ranging from notebooks, LCD monitors, projectors, handsets, PCs, headphones, personal storage systems, industrial PCs, and medical and educational systems.
