«Sinterra» and Microsoft to develop IPTV in Russia

Group of companies «Sinterra» and Microsoft in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum signed a partnership agreement that will facilitate the development of Russian market of IPTV. One of the main points of the agreement will introduce the latest version of Microsoft Mediaroom-based technology company to «Sinterra Media» - multi-operator and provider of technology solutions for TV companies and TV broadcasting network operators.

The main advantage for the subscriber's Mediaroom is the ability of users to the control set and the quality of his services: the services of Video on Demand (Video on demand) and the acquisition of music and other content - to the possibility of forming their own lists of TV channels, a viewer of any program at any convenient time and its records, as well as the availability of advanced search and internet access via TV. In addition, there are ample opportunities for interactivity, for example, users can watch your favorite programs with friends, being with them in a continuous chat.

According to Microsoft as of June 2009 there are more than 3 million users of IPTV services based on Mediaroom, with nearly a million of them joined in the last year. The partners of Microsoft in the IPTV abroad are the major carriers AT & T, MTS Allsteram, Maxcom, Deutsche Telecom, British Telecom, Swisscom, Reliance and others.
