Base stations of MTS-Ukraine embrace wind energy

Mobile operator MTS-Ukraine has announced the launch of the project, in which the power of several base stations will be using wind power plants.

With the launch of the project, the company ITT, as she claims, became the first operator in Ukraine, to run project on the use of alternative energy sources to supply the elements of its network, which, in its words, to reduce electricity consumption. As part of the pilot project, several base stations «MTS Ukraine», established in the Crimea, will be partially transferred to the power of wind farms. The operator has acquired lot of wind components from the American company Bergey WindPower, and has begun work on installing the equipment at the sites of base stations.

In addition to the Crimea, are also considered options for the installation of wind power plants in western Ukraine. These regions are selected for testing this technology, thanks to the peculiarities of local climate, when windy weather persisted throughout the year.

Wind turbines Excel-R, used by ITT in the project, issued by the American Bergey WindPower, with extensive experience in the production and use vetroagregatov. The nominal capacity of the equipment is 7.5 kW.
