FET to launch e-book service

Taiwan-based carrier Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) and local bookstore chain Eslite have signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) for a strategic partnership to provide e-book services in China, Hong Kong and Chinese-speaking societies in Southeast Asia and North America.

The partnership is looking at developing an e-book supply chain that offers both contents and electronic readers, according to FET, which plans to launch its first e-book products in the second quarter of 2010.
