MediaTek reportedly has begun shipping single-chip solutions to LG

MediaTek stated it was not the source of a Chinese-language Commercial Times report that said the company will have increased revenues in August due to the third quarter being the traditional hot season, and that the company has started shipments of low-cost 6253 single-chip solutions to LG, according to a filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

MediaTek also declined to comment on the news, stating it does not comment on customer orders.

MediaTek's operating performance during the third quarter is expected to improve from the second quarter due to increasing shipments of WCDMA, Blu-ray Disc and TV chips, according to industry sources.
