Zyxel and D-Link win VDSL2 supply contracts from Chunghwa Telecom
Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has announced that Zyxel Communications and D-Link have won open bids to supply a total of 460,000 units of VDSL2 equipment.
Zyxel, together with its system integrator partner HwaCom Systems, will supply 280,000 units worth NT$586 million (US$17.8 million), while D-Link will supply180,000 units for NT$393 million. Both suppliers will begin shipments in the fourth quarter, CHT indicated.
As of the end of June 2009, CHT had a total of 1.4 million FTTx subscribers compared to one million at the end of 2009, according to the company.
