Alcatel-Lucent inks LTE network deployment contracts with carriers in US and Europe
Alcatel-Lucent has tied up with a number of carriers in North America and Europe for cooperation to deploy LTE networks, according to Alain Biston, president of North Asia at Alcatel-Lucent.
In North America, Alcatel-Lucent has begun its cooperation with Verizon Wireless, offering complete end-to-end LTE solutions to the US-based mobile operator, Biston noted.
The Asia market is also a major focus for Alcatel-Lucent, stated Biston, noting that Alcatel-Lucent has long been a partner of China Mobile.
Alcatel-Lucent looks to cooperate with China Mobile HK for the build-up of the carrier's LTE networks in Hong Kong and to develop related TD-LTE technology for the China market, Biston indicated.
In addition, more and more 3G mobile operators are deploying, or planning to deploy, their LTE networks – a trend which is likely to lead to a take-off of the LTE industry in the next three years, Biston contended.
