China Unicom and Huawei Deploy World's First Unified Network Management System

iManager U2000 enables unified management of metropolitan area network and bearer network.

Huawei, a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, announced that it has commercially deployed the world' s first unified network management system (NMS), iManager U2000 for Shanghai Unicom, a subsidiary of China Unicom.

Over the years, Shanghai Unicom has introduced a host of compelling services for its subscribers, increasing the complexity of the network' s operation and maintenance (O&M). With Huawei' s iManager U2000, Shanghai Unicom has successfully unified the management of both its metropolitan area network and bearer network. This has improved operational efficiency and lowered OPEX (operational expenditure).

As part of Huawei' s All-IP convergence strategy, iManager U2000' s visualized IP function supports end-to-end service provision, accurate error locating, and whole-network traffic monitoring, enabling operators to accelerate time-to-market of new services.

Huawei' s NMS products have been widely adopted by more than 200 carriers worldwide, including Vodafone, France Telecom, Deutsche Telecom, KPN, China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom.
