Telecom carriers to benefit from signing of financial MOU between Taiwan and China, says Pacnet CEO
Telecom services providers are expected to benefit from the planned signing of a financial MOU between Taiwan and China, through which they will be able to provide Internet broadband, value-added and related IDC (Internet data center) services, according to William Barney, CEO of Pacnet.
Pacnet's joint venture in China, the Pacnet Business Solutions (China), will cooperate with the local subsidiary Pacnet Taiwan to offer a comprehensive portfolio of IP VPN, IDC, Internet access solutions to the potential financial clients, Barney stated.
Pacnet, which operates a 36,800km submarine cable network with current capacity of up to 3,200 Gbps, will be able to meet the growing demand for Internet data traffic in the entire Asia-Pacific range, Barney stressed. The undersea cable, the EAC-C2C, the region’s largest privately-owned submarine cable network, has a design capacity of 10.24 Tbps, according to company data.
Meanwhile, Pacnet Taiwan has stepped up its contacts with financial institutions in Taiwan to promote its IP services, and the company will also cooperate with local telecom carriers to help their clients in China access Internet broadband and telecom value-added services, according to the company.
