AT&T to Connect Nyk Locations Worldwide, Delivering Operational Efficiency and Increased Productivity.
AT&T* announced that the Japanese global shipping company Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) has selected AT&T as its worldwide communications provider. AT&T is providing Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to NYK Group in North America, Europe and Asia, to enhance its global competitiveness, delivering improved operational efficiency and increased productivity.
AT&T has provided networking solutions to NYK Group in the US and Japan for a number of years. In a global network transformation move in November 2008, NYK moved to a consistent and global IT policy, enabling it to improve efficiency, avoid duplication, and improve process management in response to the changing business environment. AT&T is a key enabler for this strategy by providing NYK with one consistent global platform and network architecture. AT&T is providing connectivity to NYK’s 137 global sites in 31 countries.
NYK chose AT&T for its world-class IP-based products and services, which provides a consistent approach and significant project management abilities to serve NYK needs globally.
