Samsung, LGE expected to spearhead production of ATSC Mobile DTV-enabled devices

The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) has approved the ATSC Mobile DTV standard, and Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics (LGE) are likely to spearhead production of related products, according to market sources.

Commercial production of ATSC Mobile DTV-enabled consumer products is likely to begin in the second half of 2010, and LGE is expected to unveil an ATSC Mobile DTV-enabled DVD player at CES 2010, the sources noted.
