Former Alltel customers in markets retained by Verizon Wireless now have access to the nation’s largest broadband network and a full suite of state of the art devices like the BlackBerry® Storm™ and Tour™ and LG enV® TOUCH. There are two new Verizon Wireless Communication stores in the Twin Cities including:

As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Verizon Wireless will also launch its HopeLine® Recycling Program. HopeLine® collects no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories from any carrier. All phones donated to HopeLine that can be refurbished are sold for reuse and those that are not salvageable are recycled in an environmentally sound way under a zero landfill policy. Proceeds from HopeLine are used to provide wireless phones to survivors of domestic violence who are rebuilding their lives or cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.

Since the program’s inception in 2001 Verizon Wireless has collected more than 6.5 million phones, awarded nearly $7 million in cash grants to domestic violence agencies and distributed nearly 80,000 phones and 228 million minutes of free wireless service to be used by victims of domestic violence.

“We are excited about our arrival to the Monroe and West Monroe communities,” said Frank Antonacci, region president for Verizon Wireless. “Verizon Wireless is committed to the communities where we live and work. We look forward to providing more Louisiana customers with the best products and services at a great value.”
