Chunghwa Telecom, ITRI cooperate to develop ICT applications

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) and the government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) on December 17 signed a cooperation agreement to develop ICT solutions for application in 12 main areas, according to CHT.

The 12 main areas of application are cloud computing, e-books, energy saving solutions, remote medical care, Triple Play Services (voice, data communication plus video on demand)/IPTV, Home Messenger, telematics, wireless positioning systems, intelligent monitoring, smart patrol collection and sharing of high-definition video, 3D images, and RFID readers, CHT pointed out.

CHT's MOD (multimedia on demand) platform, HiNet (its Internet-access service) and emome (mobile value-added service) will be used in the ICT technology development, CHT indicated.
