MTI receives RRH and PA purchasing commitment from Alcatel-Lucent
Taiwan-based microwave and RF equipment maker Microelectronics Technology (MTI) has received a formal award letter from Alcatel-Lucent for the purchase of RF power amplifiers (PAs) and RRHs (remote radio heads) in 2010.
Shipments of the two items from MTI will begin in the first quarter of 2010, supporting Alcatel-Lucent's roll-outs of 3G/4G mobile networks, MTI said.
PAs and RRHs will be the key growth drivers for MTI in 2010, and the company's shipments of mobile base stations are expected to increase over 50% annually in 2010, according to an estimate by industry sources.
