Taiwan market: LGE launches Lollipop GD580 3G handset
LG Electronics (LGE) has launched its Lollipop-series GD580 3G handset in the Taiwan market targeting the younger-generation segment with a suggested retail price of NT$9,900 (US$306).
Over 70,000 of the company's Ice Cream handset have been sold in Taiwan, and LGE expects sales of the clamshell Lollipop handsets to surpass Ice Cream's record, said Finsen Chen, vice president of telecom business at LGE Taiwan.
The company also aims to ship over one million handsets and take a 15% of the local market in 2010, compared to 10% currently, Chen stated.
LGE will also launch the Lollipop in China and Hong Kong this month and in Europe and North America in 2010, the company said.
