PCB maker Tripod sees flat revenues in 4Q09
Tripod Technology, which supplies PCBs for handsets, notebooks and DRAM modules, saw consolidated revenues slide 3% sequentially to NT$3.17 billion (US$98 million) in November 2009, according to the company. The PCB maker attributed the slight drop to seasonal effects.
Tripod is seeing a larger proportion of small-volume and short lead-time orders, while it has forecast order momentum to slow down in the second half of December, with revenues reaching NT$2.8 billion for the month. The company expects fourth-quarter revenues to remain similar to levels in the prior quarter, and revenues for 2009 to surpass US$1 billion, hitting the company's record.
Tripod's January-November consolidated revenues grew 5% on year to NT$29.95 billion.
Looking into the first quarter of 2010, Tripod expects sales of LCD TVs to remain stable and low-cost handsets to boost both local and export market demand. In general, revenues in first-quarter 2010 will weaken, but the range of decline will narrow compared to the same period in previous years, the company indicated.
