Leading Analyst Firm Includes Baynote in New Report on Using Search and Advanced Analytics to Target Content

Baynote's Collective Intelligence technology proven to help companies target content and products at website visitors, detect changing business patterns.

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Baynote, the leader in intent-driven recommendations and site search optimization solutions for Global 2000 and e-commerce organizations, today announced that it has been referenced in Gartner, Inc.'s recently released report: "Leading Websites Will Use Search, Advanced Analytics to Target Content"[i]. Gartner predicts that by year-end 2013, over 30 percent of the 100 most popular websites will use search technology or content analytics to target content at users. Further, Gartner believes that over 60 percent of these top 100 websites will actively seek out and respond to new activity patterns by that time. According to the report, "By tracking users' behavior and incorporating more information about users, websites will allow the enterprise to detect changing business patterns early on, and websites will become the channel by which the enterprise can detect and respond to these changing patterns to seize opportunities or mitigate threats."

Baynote's Collective Intelligence Platform™ allows businesses to better understand their site visitors' intent and context and automatically display the best content and products based on that insight. Today, Baynote is widely used by market leading companies in telecommunications, retail, media, travel, consumer electronics, high tech and healthcare to guide customers to the most relevant content and products and identify patterns in consumer behavior in order to make more strategic business decisions.

According to Gartner, "Technology that can make inferences from collective intelligence patterns could analyze the results of the query based on user recommendations and analysis of social networks involving the user or the website. The system will then return results with relevance ratings much as in Internet searches today. However, the results will consist, not of Web pages with the "Top 10" and subsequently ranked hits, but of the most optimal response to the user given the intelligence gathered up to and including the last click."

"As Gartner's research shows, more companies are putting in place strategies that allow them to proactively seek and respond to early warning signals that form patterns in the marketplace," said Jack Jia, founder and CEO of Baynote. "Baynote helps companies identify these patterns with patented technology that lets them tap into the implicit insights of customers, partners and employees visiting their websites.
