Taiwan market: NCC to enforce new price adjustment formula for fixed-line, mobile communication services
Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC) has announced a new formula for adjusting prices for fixed-line and mobile communications services.
The formula, which will apply between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2013, takes into account changes in the consumer price index (CPI) from 2008 to 2009, and other market and industry factors - such as international prices for same communication services, development of the domestic telecom industry and the telecom sector's general profitability as compared with others in Taiwan - that form a percentage coefficient for basic adjustment, NCC said.
