GLOBAL - We’ve got a real mixed bag of apps from the pool over at MyDailyApp this week. They’ve been trawling the digital shelves for the latest and greatest offering from the Ovi Store and come up trumps with this trio.
Kicking things off we have the FIBA World Championship app Bball, followed by Good Things for those we don’t have the time to wait and finally an app that promises to produce the perfect egg. Any of these tickle your app fancy? Join us after the jump for more.
Basketball March madness may be over in the USA, but it’s just getting started for the rest of us with the FIBA World Championship. Every four years the top men’s and women’s basketball teams from around the world compete for the accolade of being World Champions. This year, Turkey hosts the men’s basketball championships starting in August while the women will be facing off in the Czech Republic in September.
Bball is essentially your must-have guide to the tournaments. One touch will unleash FIBA’s official news releases, pre-recorded promotional and games highlights videos and, as soon as the tournament is underway, current game scores. It’s a natty app that by all accounts will instantly become your bible of basketball. It’s available now gratis for all touch-enabled s60 5th edition devices.
Moving on to the next app and searching for the finer things in life is Good Things. It’s essentially a guide to the “good things” near you around the globe. Good Things members across the world upload their recommendations for categories such as bars, restaurants, hospitals, landmarks and anything else a discerning user might want to add. Other less traditional information ranges from real-time traffic support to a full city guide.
Planning a memorable trip? Search the area or city you’re heading to and snoop around before you go using Good Things on your PC. If you spot something you like the look of, download the information onto your handset for easy access when you land. Imagine having the world’s best tourist guide at your beck and call in your back pocket.
Good Things is available now for s60 5th edition handsets. The basic version is free but if you fancy stretching its legs there are some fees. Watch the video for more.
Bringing our variety pack to a close is Perfect Egg. Last month we put out a call for the worst cooks amongst you. The Ovi Store team were on the hunt for the can’t cook, won’t cook. Well, we can honestly say they’ve found some. Having told them the difference between a saucepan and a bedpan they were let loose in the kitchen armed with the Perfect Egg app. Produced by the Pico brothers it promises that anyone should be able to cook boiled eggs on demand each and every time. Not convinced? Try it out for yourself, for free, and let us know. In the meantime check out how the calamity cooks got on in the video below.
