Chunghwa Telecom aims at FTTx coverage of 85% in 2014
Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) is expanding its fiber-optic network around Taiwan and expects the number of its FTTx subscribers to exceed that of its ADSL subscribers in 2011 and its FTTx coverage to reach 85% in 2014, according to the company.
As of the end of March 2010, CHT had 4.32 million subscribers of broadband Internet-access services, including 1.74 million FTTx users, as well as 9.36 million subscribers of mobile communication services, including 4.93 million 3G users, and 12.4 million fixed-line telephone subscribers, the company indicated.
