Six new smartphones to boost HTC 4Q10 shipments to 8.5 million units, says paper

Smartphone vendor HTC is expected to launch six new devices in the US and Europe, possibly bumping up fourth-quarter shipments to 8.5 million units, according to a report by the Chinese-language Commercial Times.

Citing industry sources, the report revealed that the Taiwan-based company will introduce in Europe the Vision dual-core, Android-enabled smartphone in October and the Mondrain, based on Windows Phone 7, in the same quarter.

For the US via carrier T-Mobile, HTC will roll out two Android-based phones, the Vanguard and Emerald, and an unspecified Windows Phone 7 model. AT&T, the country's largest carrier, reportedly has also agreed to distribute an HTC Windows Phone 7 smartphone slated to hit the market in November.
