Launched into service backbone network with a total length of 800 km linked republic of Dagestan in the Astrakhan region, Stavropol Territory, as well as Chechnya.
The capacity of the new lines is 2.5 Gbps. Until the end of the year in the country will complete the construction of several fiber-optic "rings". "The Ring" with the length 580 km linking Makhachkala, Gunib, Vachi, Magaramkent, Gaptsah, Derbent, and Dzhemikent Izberbash and enable laying fiber-optic communication lines in the direction of Azerbaijan. Network bandwidth is the third generation in Makhachkala by December 2011 will increase to five times the maximum data transfer speed network in the country will be 14.4 Mbps. By the end of the year services in 3G will be available to residents of all 50 settlements in Dagestan.
MTS Group is planning the next two to three years to increase the length of its own fiber-optic line, including the trunk, up to 125,000 kilometers from the current more than 100,000 kilometers and expects to pass through their own channels of about 90% of its traffic.
