Nokia Siemens Networks wins award for leadership in SON
Informa LTE Award 2011 for Nokia Siemens Networks Self Organizing Networks
Nokia Siemens Networks has won a top honor at the Informa LTE Awards 2011. The company’s Self Organizing Networks (SON) Suite won ‘Best Core Network Product’. The award underlines Nokia Siemens Networks’ leadership in SON innovation as well as its strong focus on customer experience management.
“A focus on customer-centric services is vital if you want to evolve a product portfolio that breaks new ground, and we’ve invested heavily in this area to realize LTE’s full potential,” said Thorsten Robrecht, head of Network Systems product management at Nokia Siemens Networks. “Recognition at the Informa LTE Awards 2011 underpins our number one position in LTE resulting from close co-operation with leading LTE operators around the world.”
Nokia Siemens Networks has won 37 commercial LTE deals to date and has undertaken more than 25 trials. The ‘Best Core Network Product’ award for Nokia Siemens Networks‘ SON Suite recognizes the company’s provision of an outstanding technology to enable LTE deployment. The SON Suite automates network operations in three areas: self-healing, self-optimization and self-configuration, enabling cost-efficient LTE network operations.
The company’s SON capability and its continuous evolution to fully support cognitive self learning and adaptive networks reduces management complexity and allows connectivity for different layers of the network for best quality user experience. With its unique, broad product and professional services portfolio, as part of its Liquid Radio architecture, Nokia Siemens Networks helps network operators make more of their existing assets and improves the mobile broadband experience for end users.
At the core of Nokia Siemens Networks’ SON Suite are the market-leading multi-technology, multi-vendor NetAct network management system for central SON intelligence as well as the compact, modular Flexi Multiradio Base Station and the Flexi NG (Network Gateway) and Flexi NS (Network Server) for distributed SON intelligence.
