ASUS and Acer will cut production by 40% ultrabukov

ASUS and Acer are planning to cut production ultrabukov shortly. This conclusion was made in the wording of the site DigiTimes, when at their disposal, it was reported that the volume of ODM orders for production ultrabukov was reduced from 250 - 300 000 units to 150 - 180 thousand units by the end of 2011. The reason for this decision were unsuccessful sale of devices during the first month since the start of deliveries. Currently, both companies offer models at prices ranging from 1000 to 1600 dollars, at a time when the entire computer market is going through hard times, it becomes critical to the success of the device. These figures suggest that the models Acer S3 and ASUS Zenbook will be produced in quantities up to 40% less than originally planned. In response to this message by representatives of both companies issued statements that everything is within the original projections, and management confident in the success of ultrabukov. But their triumph is delayed in the long term. In comparison with its main rival MacBook Air model, Acer and ASUS does not have any advantages in performance, either by design. In this case the cost exceeds the price of a compact MacBook in most markets.
