Sharp has developed a slim 12 megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization

Japanese company Sharp announced the development of 12.1 (1/3.2'') megapixel CMOS sensor with optical image stabilization, which, with its words, is the thinnest in the industry at a height of only 5.47 mm.

The technology, which has an index RJ63YC100, will be used in various mobile devices, and in the first place - to smartphones. Shipment of the first models scheduled for today. In addition, the new sensor from Sharp makes it possible to shoot video in the resolution of Full HD (1080p).
