Huawei and "Rostelecom" implemented a pilot zone GPON

Huawei has announced the implementation of a pilot zone GPON, built on technology-based intelligent optical distribution network (IODN) for the Company "Rostelecom" in Perm region. From the words of the company, this is the first IODN GPON network in Russia, which provides high-quality high-speed broadband access to end users.

Using the solution iODN, the operator increases utilization of existing fiber resources with automated accounting transparent, letting you get the most from the investment in the infrastructure and reduce the cost of subsequent expansion. Also, the solution enables monitoring of resources in real-time, flexible, and rapid release of the final consumer in the end significantly reduces the time to provide services to subscribers (TTM).
