"Kaspersky Lab": most of the companies do not protect smartphones and tablets of its employees


As reported by experts, "Kaspersky Lab", a little more than a quarter of the companies in the world (28%) have implemented in their corporate networks, specialized protection and management of mobile devices (Mobile Device Management) fully. This conclusion was reached following an international study conducted in partnership with B2B International in late 2012. The study involved more than 5000 IT-specialists from 18 countries, including Russia. Thus, in Russia the figure was even lower at only 23%. Less than a third of global companies (32%) use a single security policy for smartphones and tablet PCs.

In addition, only 9% of organizations, guided by considerations of safety, employees are willing to completely ban the use of personal smartphones for work tasks. On the other hand, 29% of companies give employees unlimited access to the data on the corporate network via mobile devices. According to experts, "Kaspersky Lab" IT-Security neglect threatens deprivation of important data, whether as a result of viral infection, loss or theft of the device. According to the company, in the new solutions Kaspersky Security for Business includes tools for managing mobile devices Mobile Device Management. They provide continuous monitoring, management and protection of any mobile device, which is used in the company. This software protects smartphones and tablets from malware (which is particularly important for the platform Android, the number of malicious programs for which is growing), but also allows administrators to remotely manage the data on the device by blocking access to them in case of theft or loss.
