Release of flexible displays from Samsung delayed

Samasung originally hoped to bring Samsung flexible color displays on the market in late 2013, but it is likely that these plans will remain unfulfilled. The problem has been found in the process of sealing screens. Although Samsung has a proven technology of OLED panels, but in the case of the flexible matrix requires additional sealing of the module to protect it from oxygen and moisture. It is known that members of the Samsung acquired patent rights of Vitex System, which allow to achieve the required level of integrity. However, the production process, it was found that the technology Vitex System is not suitable for mass production of Samsung. Application of these methods too delays production of each panel. The company has already started practicing techniques that will reduce sealing time to less than two minutes. However, it is possible that the reconstruction of the whole technical process may affect the timing of the appearance of commercial samples. Against this background, it looks like a real chance to take the palm in the production of flexible screens from LG, whose representatives have recently stated the possibility.
