Taiwan market: Taiwan Mobile offers free handsets to promote BlackBerry Service
Taiwan-based 3G telecom operator Taiwan Mobile (TWM) on August 21 launch an aggressive campaign aiming to promote the sale of BlackBerry services in the Taiwan market.
Under the campaign program which will continue until the end of October, TWM will offer four BlackBerry handsets – the Pearl 8120, Curve 8300, 8707g and 8700g – free of charge to business clients who are willing to pay a monthly service fee of NT$1,499 (US$47.7) for a special package deal, the company announced.
TWM, which currently has over 1,000 business subscribers for related BlackBerry services, aims to boost the number of BlackBerry subscribers to 10,000 by the end of this year, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN).
