Working In A Wireless World: Verizon Wireless Survey Finds Family Is Still Number One Priority
Men More Likely to Add Spouse; Women More Likely to Add Parents
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Adding a boss or a co-worker to a Verizon Wireless calling plan is certainly an option when customers subscribe to Friends & Family®, but a recent survey sponsored by the company suggests customers most want to talk to loved ones. According to survey results, 78 percent of wireless phone customers would most prefer to have family members in their unlimited wireless calling network, while only 2 percent of wireless customers would most want to include their bosses or co-workers. The telephone survey polled more than 750 consumers ages 18 and over who have a wireless phone. Other key findings include:
•Of the 78 percent of wireless phone customers who chose to add their family, 44 percent of the respondents would most want their spouse or significant other in their unlimited calling network.
•More males than females (51 percent vs. 37 percent) would be likely to include their spouse or significant other in their unlimited calling plan. Those who said they would most want their parents in their unlimited calling plan were more likely females.
•When asked whether they would be more likely to add wireless or landline numbers to an unlimited calling network, 65 percent of survey respondents would be more likely to add wireless numbers, while 31 percent would be more likely to add landline numbers.
With Friends & Family, Verizon Wireless customers with Nationwide Single Line plans with 900 Anytime Minutes or more may add up to five landline or wireless numbers regardless of the service provider. Customers on a Nationwide Family SharePlan® with 1,400 Anytime Minutes or more may add up to 10 numbers to their Friends & Family calling directory. There are no additional fees to make changes to a Friends & Family calling directory and customers can go online to make changes at any time. Changes will be effective the following day.
