Taiwan July export orders hit nine-month high
Taiwan's July 2009 export orders totaled US$28.614 billion, decreasing 8.77% on year, but representing the highest since November 2008, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on August 24.
Electronics and IT/communications products were the top two categories in terms of July export value. The export value of electronics products totaled US$6.928 billion, slipping 7.97% one year, while the IT/communications segment saw an on-year decline of 3.64% to reach US$6.562 billion.
The total export value for January-July totaled US$168.577 billion, down 21.15% on year.
