China market: 3G handset sales to top 40 million units in 2010, says paper
Total sales of 3G handsets in the China market are expected to top 40 million units in 2010, pushing the total number of 3G service users to 71 million at the year end, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted data from Taiwan-based market research firm Topology Research Institute as indicating.
The number of TD-SCDMA 3G users alone will increase 24.5 million in 2010 due to aggressive subsidies provided by China Mobile for the purchases of CPE products, including handsets, data cards, netbooks and other wireless devices, the Taiwan-based paper quoted Topology as saying.
