The company GNU / Linukstsentr officially announced the beginning of sales LBook - specialized devices for reading electronic books, managed OS Linux. Screen LBook created using "electronic ink", proposed by the U.S. company E Ink, which provides an excellent opportunity to display static text.

The main distinguishing features "electronic ink" - high resolution image at any angle, even in the bright light and very low power consumption. Such a display is not required lights and, more importantly, the constant voltage to maintain the pixel in the "lit" condition: that provides a record low power consumption, as battery, actually spent only on Flipped pages. The image, once output LBook, is likely to remain there for several months.

Compared with conventional book, LBook more compact, and its weight is not dependent on the number of pages in the publication that you intend to read. In doing so, for its size device recalls daily and easily fit in the case-diplomat and a student backpack, and elegant handbags. Built-WOLF Linux operating system allows access to many different types of files: PDF, RTF, HTML, XML (FB2), RSS, TXT, DOC, DjVu, as well as its own - WOLF documents and Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint (subject to a preliminary conversion of WOLF) . The availability of developer tools (SDK) means the possibility of providing WOLF additional applications outside the standard.
