ASUStek reorganization plans

ASUStek Computer Company intends to reorganize its business. As reported by DigiTimes, citing Jerry Shena (Jerry Shen), President of ASUStek, the company plans to combine the resources of several areas, including the segment of desktop PCs and "family" of digital devices, as well as to optimize the use of staff in all divisions.

The direction of notebooks will be divided into two segments. One - for the consumer models, and the second - for notebooks, targeted at companies and businesses, as well as low-cost systems. The number of personnel in units of motherboards and graphics cards to fall, will also be applied strategy division into segments, as in the notebook division. The problem of surplus stocks of monitors, motherboards and graphic cards to be fully resolved by the end of March. In addition, the company plans to reduce the range of Eee PC up to four series.

January may be the most disappointing month in 2009 for ASUStek, because it accounts for celebrating the New Year. Nevertheless, the company has a chance to become profitable in the first quarter, while in the second quarter of the year, these chances will be even higher. ASUStek plans to sell 7.2 million Eee PC, 6,5 million notebooks, motherboards 22 million and 6 million graphics cards.
