UCell Uzbekistan selects Nokia Siemens Networks to simplify the collection and processing of charging and billing data

Operator joins 20 service providers that have selected the convergent mediation solution which simplifies network architecture and brings cost efficiency
Uzbekistan's fastest growing GSM operator FE Coscom LLC, operating under the UCell brand, has selected Nokia Siemens Networks convergent mediation solution, charge@once mediate, to collect and process data for accurate billing of their more than 2.8 million prepaid and postpaid customers.

“Transparent and accurate billing is essential for our customers, so collecting the charging data records and processing them in one place for our billing systems is important for managing the customer experience,” said Helge Raitanen, CTO, UCell. “Naturally we also want to keep our network architecture as simple and cost-efficient as possible. All things considered, the Nokia Siemens Networks convergent mediation solution is the right one for us.”

“Having just one mediation platform for offline and online mediation allows service providers to simplify their networks. In addition, fast growing service providers, such as UCell, benefit from the flexible integration with any system as the network evolves,” said Mikko Ylä-Kauttu, Head of UCell Customer Team, Nokia Siemens Networks. “Besides billing, collected information can be used for any purpose including statistics, fraud detection and data analysis or to mediate, for example, subscriber profile data between the network and service delivery platforms.”

Nokia Siemens Networks has provided and integrated the convergent mediation solution for the UСell 2G/3G network.

The Nokia Siemens Networks convergent mediation solution was launched a year ago and has been sold to 20 service providers already.
