Verizon And FusionOne Team Up For Multi-Service Sync
Based on Verizon Wireless’ Successful Backup Assistant, FusionOne’s Multi-Service Sync Technology will be Integrated into other Verizon Services
BASKING RIDGE, NJ, and SAN JOSE, CA — Verizon today announced it is working with FusionOne, a leading provider of mobile phone content portability services, to develop and offer consumer and business services using FusionOne’s new multi-service sync technology. Verizon customers should begin to see the ability to sync information such as contacts and address books across Verizon services – including mobile, telecom and FiOS – later this year.
Building upon the successful deployment of Backup Assistant with Verizon Wireless and based on the same architecture, the new integration extends FusionOne’s relationship with Verizon. Backup Assistant automatically safeguards customers’ address books against phone loss, damage or theft, and eliminates the need to manually transfer contacts when a phone is replaced or upgraded.
Kyle Malady, vice president of network development for Verizon Wireless, said, “Syncing across communications services – from mobile to landline and broadband, and back again – is a service that makes perfect sense in our fast-paced world. Who wants to enter and re-enter, and re-enter again the same names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses? This is a feature that will offer Verizon customers real value.”
“This important relationship between Verizon and FusionOne will strengthen our position as the leader in mobile content portability solutions,” said Mike Mulica, chief executive officer of FusionOne. “Verizon subscribers will save time and enjoy the convenience of only needing to worry about one set of contacts.”
