AT&T Makes Marathon Monday Mobile
AT&T Athlete Alert Program Keeps Friends and Family Connected to Runners
Got a loved one headed for Heartbreak Hill? This year you can get updates on the progress of your Boston Marathon runner sent to your mobile phone or email on Marathon Monday, April 20th.
AT&T* is once again proud to be the Official Wireless Provider of the 113th Boston Marathon and Exclusive Sponsor of the AT&T Athlete Alert Program. The program is designed to help friends and family across the country follow the progress of registered Boston Marathon runners in real time.
“With 26,000 registered athletes, even the most diligent and patient spectator may miss the big moment when their runner passes them on the race route. With the AT&T Athlete Alert Program, you can sign up to receive a text on your mobile phone so you will know when your runner is about to pass by,” said Steve Krom, vice president and general manager for AT&T New England. “The program is also nice for friends and family across the country. If you can’t come to the race to cheer on your runner – the race will come to you.”
Signing up is easy. Simply text RUNNER to 41234 and get signed up to receive course updates on your runner. You can also sign up for text or email alerts online at www.baa.org Program sign up is available starting March 25th and closes on April 20th at 6am.
Updates will be sent when your runner reaches the start, 10K, half marathon, 30K mark, and from the finish line. Normal text message rates apply.
